Car spotted near the CatCall of the Day . A Morris Minor according to the badge on the side , and with Morris 1000 on the back , though the one we had as a family forty odd years ago was a Morris 1000 but we called it a Morris Traveller . Ours was green but apart from that it looked fairly indentical to this one , though by the end of its life it certainly sported a lot more rust .
Today it looked very very tiny for five people and a dog and L and I wondered how we had all fitted in . ... suffering from car sickness I often used to sit in the luggage compartment ( the "boot" ) , with my knees hunched up , or even lying down completely to try to sleep .
Even now I still get car sick occasionally now as a passenger , more so when sitting in the back , which makes me think my place in the car was possibly the worst . But at the time as I remember we would squabble over the spot , as on a longer journey it was delightfully close to the ubiquitous picnic and definitely did afford more leg room and more of a space to spread out .
It gives me the creeps now thinking about it , after the two children from Heaton were killed in the back row of what I assume was their people carrier when a truck ran into the back of the car as they parked to clear the windows near Christmas some years ago .

I have owned 2 cars from the Morris family. A Morris Mini Minor Coupe and a Morris 1100. Well, they were called something like that. Great reliable cars. But, what I really wanted to say is that I am totally in love with that cat on the lounge at the top of your blog! Do post your photos on Red Bubble (www.redbubble.com) because if I see them there I can buy them especially for greeting cards. Love the lighthouse pictures too. (Oh, and for the sceptics amongst us, I do not work for Red Bubble BTW!) Loving your photos, best wishes, Michelle.
Hi Michelle
Thanks so much for the comment . I have signed up with Redbubble and when I get back from hols ( end of this week ) I will put some of my photos on there .
We despised the Morris Traveller as kids cos it seemed old fashioned somehow but now seeing that old one it looked great . My dad must have loved them as we had one after the other .
Will let you know when Ive posted the pics and thanks for the encouragement.
Best wishes
Shelagh
