Freak waves and high spring tides causing mayhem on the east coast .
the waves here are so high they obscure the lighthouse itself , usually visible at the end of the pier .
The Spanish battery was crowded this afternoon with spectators .
Alive enjoyed the attention as we took photos .

Wouldn't want to be in that lighthouse! But then, I suppose they don't have people in them anymore, huh? I really have no idea!
No people in them now no as far as I know .
The storm mainly hit East Anglia , more south than we are . Not much damage , most of the storm defences held ... one car washed away I think .
